Longleat Safari Park 2024 — themed “Journey Through Time” — transformed the estate into a spectacular lantern festival spanning from the Ice Age to modern civilization.

Featuring cross-cultural displays from Shang and Zhou bronze patterns to Ancient Roman and Egyptian lanterns, the festival blended Chinese craftsmanship with British estate celebrations, coinciding with Christmas and Longleat House’s 75th anniversary, offering visitors an immersive experience of history, culture, and festive lights.

Featured Design:

We take ” Journey Through Time” as its theme and builds a corridor of time and space spanning from the Ice Age to modern civilization. It features the core presentation of parallel narratives of Eastern and Western civilizations: Lanterns adorned with Shang and Zhou bronze patterns stand adjacent and echo the Ancient Roman Colosseum lantern display; Chinese dragon boat lanterns and Viking longship lanterns create an image of cultural integration on the lake surface; additionally, cross-civilization lanterns such as the Egyptian pyramids are scattered among them.

Seasonal Alignment:

This lantern festival coincides with the UK Christmas season and the 75th anniversary of Longleat House. As night falls, the themed lanterns, the estate’s anniversary decorations, and Christmas lights are lit up simultaneously. The Eastern lantern craftsmanship and the classical ambiance of the British estate complement each other beautifully.

Using lanterns as the carrier to realize the parallel presentation of civilization symbols from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, Ancient Rome, etc., its cross-cultural narrative design has been widely recognized by local media.

This year’s Lantern Festival coincides with the Christmas season, the 75th anniversary of the estate, and the 10th anniversary of cooperation.
