In 2022, Longleat Safari Park unveiled The Wondrous Worlds of Roald Dahl as the theme for its annual Festival of Light.

Featuring hundreds of spectacular lantern installations inspired by the author’s most beloved stories, the event transformed the park into a magical winter destination.

Blending literature, art, and seasonal celebration, the festival offered visitors an unforgettable journey that combined enchanting light displays with the thrill of Longleat’s world-famous safari.

This year’s Festival of Light draws inspiration from the beloved works of British children’s author Roald Dahl. Hundreds of large-scale lantern installations vividly bring to life the whimsical characters and magical scenes from his stories. Visitors can walk along the dazzling lantern trail, stepping into the enchanting worlds of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr Fox, the BFG and more, immersing themselves in a mesmerizing journey of light and imagination.

Seasonal Alignment:

Timed to coincide with the Christmas and New Year season, the festival offers more than a dazzling visual experience. Guests can combine their lantern walk with daytime adventures through the winter Safari, enjoying a perfect blend of seasonal celebration, culture, and entertainment.
