Festival des Lanternes Blagnac 2021

Festival des Lanternes Blagnac 2021 transformed the city into a dazzling world of light, blending Chinese lantern artistry with French cultural symbols.

From Dream of the Red Chamber–inspired displays to porcelain dragons and aircraft-shaped lanterns, the event celebrated Christmas, New Year, and Chinese Spring Festival, highlighting Sino-French friendship while offering visitors an unforgettable cultural and festive experience.

Featured Design:

This event focuses on the integration of Chinese and French cultures. It features not only poetic lantern displays inspired by the classic Chinese literary work Dream of the Red Chamber, but also iconic symbols such as divine dragons and motifs from Classic of Mountains and Seas. Furthermore, it closely aligns with Blagnac’s identity as “the Aviation Capital of Europe” — through traditional aircraft-shaped lanterns that carry the weight of time, it showcases the legacy of Western industry, sparking unique dialogues between Eastern and Western traditions and modern creativity.
